Ahhhhh...

It has been awhile since my last post and I have a good reason. Our computer is freaking out. All of a sudden it wouldn't let you log on. I tried every trick that I knew to get it to work and nothing worked. So last Thursday Eric, Orion, Bella and Tia took a drive to Gallup while I was working and dropped the computer off at the "computer fix it people" I am hoping they will have it up and running soon.

The computer I am working on right now is sooo old that the USB port is a 1.0 which means that the computer can't read my camera or the video player which means I can't download pictures or post video. It's a tad bit crazy.

The weather today was really what I would call a first day of Spring. It was about 70 with clear blue skies - not bad considering that it snowed last week. I worked out in the yard and it was glorious. I burned all the tumbleweeds that have accumulated over the Winter and turned over the garden boxes to get ready for planting. I remember last year when my friend Katy posted pictures of the first greens of the season from her garden - at that time we still had snow on the ground. The farmers almanac says that I can't plant until after Memorial Day. Patience is a virtue.

Until next week when I have a 'real' computer. Have a great one. xoxo

Happy 6 Month Birthday, Baby!

Can you believe it? My little Toots turned 1/2 a year old today. He has a 6 month well baby check tomorrow so I will post vital stats then. The crazy thing is this...I was born on April 5th and Orion was born on October 5th. There is something about the symmetry in this that I love. When I turned 1/2 year old my mom made me a heart cake that she says was chocolate with German chocolate frosting. I decided to make a similar cake for little O. The one below is the cake I made and the little one in the corner is the one from October 5th 1973! So...to celebrate my 36th we drove out to McGaffey Recreation Area and hiked around. The sky was bright blue but boy was it chillllly. Now its time to settle down for the night. My friend, Ansu, just dropped by this Rhubarb concentrate to add to club soda and its freakin great and this along with my new fave baby bel cheese and fruit will be a great dinner snack. So cheers to a happy Sunday night and me not feeling so blue about turning 36!

Pictures that Make Tough Weeks Worth It!

Tough Week

This has been a tough week, you know the kind that makes you wish you won the lotto so you could retire and spend your days doing whatever the heck you wanted? Why has this been a tough week…let me list it out for you:

1. Our good friends the Willis-Carlberg Crew moved or should I say they are in the process of moving, probably to Atlanta but maybe Northern California. This is a place of transition so you always know people are not going to be living here forever but it still doesn’t make it easy to say “see you later” to people you have grown to love. In between moving they are seeing a bit of the country and then they rented a motorhome to cruise around New Zealand in…now that sounds as good to me as winning the lotto.

2. The weather is killing me. I live way up in the high desert at almost 7000 feet and it has been snowy and cold. Yes, I know the sky is blue but still its so deceiving and a little depressing when you think that you can’t start a garden until after Memorial Day. In fact when I was talking about the “last snow of the season” my above mentioned friend, Heather said “Stacy, don’t you remember when we had the Cinco De Mayo Snow!!?”

3. I will turn 36 on Sunday. Do I really have to go into details about this – the gray temples and laugh lines say it all.

4. I am back to work full-time and I really mean full-time. No half-assed, part time, half days…this is the real deal.
